The experience at Michigan Works! was a great learning experience to get my foot in the door for office experience. I really liked interacting with the customers and getting to know people on a day-to-day basis. I developed my skills in computer technology and office equipment as well as my customer service.

"I was given a position as an assistant to the president of the building. I did clerical work, organization, contract retyping, and so many other things. I helped wherever I was needed. While I was there, I was accepted and taken in by everyone. The program helped me in so many ways, but mainly by showing me that there is still some good in the world and that help can come from the most unexpected and unknown places. The program was another chance for me, and for that I will always be grateful."

The PWE is a beneficial program; as you get paid for learning and being able to rack up experience. Honestly, it was very beneficial for me; I did PWE at a doctor’s office as a Medical Assistant. In those months, I quickly learned how to draw blood on patients, EKG, give shots, and many more skills. This program helped me develop hands-on experience that I needed to be able to work in this career. The PWE experience is an excellent choice for any student looking to get paid to learn, and will help you acquire a job and give you the experience you need and look very impressive on your resume.
