MOBIS North America is the world’s largest full-service module supplier, manufacturing the three core modules required for vehicle assembly, plus separate driver safety and convenience group components. In Mid-2022, MOBIS marked a significant milestone with their production launch and successful transition into a new state-of-the-art facility in Highland Park, MI, with a focus on the Stellantis Grand Cherokee program.

MOBIS contacted the SEMCA Michigan Works! Highland Park American Job Center to apply for the 2023 State of Michigan Going PRO Talent Fund award to fund demonstrate its commitment to its employee development and training efforts. MOBIS proudly received the award in the first quarter of 2023.

The Going PRO Talent Fund award brought immense excitement to the plant management teams. From the UAW teams on the floor to the senior management within the plant, the primary objective was to enhance communication among their employees. MOBIS’s new, larger, and technologically advanced facility in Highland Park boasted expansive conference rooms, dedicated training spaces, and increased plant floor capacity to accommodate the implementation of an advanced AGV system for efficient part delivery to workstations— making advanced training essential.

The Going PRO Talent Fund award played a pivotal role in facilitating an innovative and tailored new training program for MOBIS, specifically addressing one of the foremost challenges faced during the transition to the new facility, communication. The success of this initiative reflects MOBIS’s commitment to overcoming barriers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development of its workforce.
