In the wake of securing pivotal contracts with entities like the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services(MDHHS), Detroit Lead Bank Authority, and Detroit Housing Commission, ETC faced a formidable challenge. The influx of new contracts brought unprecedented growth and placed the company at risk of falling behind. Recognizing the urgent need for training to support their expansion post-pandemic, ETC turned to SEMCA Michigan Works! Wayne American Job Center for assistance.

In collaboration with the Wayne AJC, ETC successfully submitted a Going PRO Talent Fund application, marking a crucial step towards securing the resources needed to bridge the skills gap and ensure the success of their new contracts. The result was a well-deserved award of $22,000, welcome confirmation of the commitment of both parties to invest in the skills of their workforce and sustain their growth.

With this funding, ETC embarked on a transformative journey, providing training for 17 new hires, and upskilling four incumbent workers. The strategic investment not only addressed immediate challenges but also positioned the company for sustained success in a competitive landscape.

The partnership between ETC and SEMCA Michigan Works! highlights the importance of collaboration in overcoming challenges and seizing growth opportunities. As ETC continues to navigate the complexities of their expanding contracts, the Going PRO Talent Fund investment serves as a foundation for building a skilled and resilient workforce. This success story not only underlines the impact of strategic training initiatives but also demonstrates the invaluable role that partnerships with organizations like SEMCA Michigan Works! play in fostering the growth and success of businesses in the post-pandemic era.
