If you answered YES to these questions, it’s your chance to get FREE Tuition and a Training Stipend to become a certified Community Health Worker (CHW).

What Type of Training is Provided?

Training is provided by the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance (MiCHWA) which supports CHW education, training and workforce needs. 

  • The program consists of 8-week virtual CHW basic skills training and 40 -hour in-person internship.
  • Training is online and includes interactive activities, group projects, individual presentations, communication skills practice, lectures, and assessments.

Navigators will help you access support services, set career goals, identify relevant education and training opportunities, and complete requirements for college admissions and financial aid.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible alien.
  • Be 18–29 years old.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalency.
